Today we are talking about SR 9009 (stenabolic). I got a question about this compound a few weeks ago.

Someone asked me to compare stenabolic's benefits to that of cardarine and the difference between the two compounds.

So in turn, I thought I would do a formal write up of SR 9009 to inform you guys more about this compound.

This is popular research chemical used to improve endurance and muscle growth with your lab rats.

This is a great alternative to Cardarine (GW-501516), for those are scared of the bullshit cancer study. 

But there are some major differences in the mechanisms of function of these research compounds. 

I will be breaking down those major differences, as well the benefits and side effects of Stenabolic.

What Is SR 9009 STENABOLIC?

First of all, Stenabolic is not a selective androgen receptor (SARM). However, it frequently gets rolled into that category for whatever reason.

Stenabolic is a synthetic Rev-Erb ligand developed under Thomas Burris at Scripps Research Institute.

This means SR 9009 stimulates Rev-Erb protein, Stenbolic can greatly affect your lipid and glucose metabolic activity and fat storing cells

How Stenabolic Works?

When the mitochondria (where ATP, energy, is produced) count increases in the muscles, the researcher might notice drastic increases in endurance and muscular strength.

Studies show that stenabolic added 50% more energy to research subjects (mice).

Basically, this allows the researcher to get more work done with less time and effort. That's pretty impressive. 

In turn, the metabolic changes increase energy expenditure by 5%, even when the user is resting and not working out at all.  

Stenabolic is going to burn excess calories and won't allow them to turn into fat

This is coupled with an enhanced metabolization of glucose, helps the body burn fat at times which puts in the body in a constant state of exercise. 

Clinical Studies And Other Benefits Of SR 9009?

In addition to much greater muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, and enhanced metabolism; there are several other benefits of Stenabolic which I will get into below.

In this study, SR 9009 is shown to lower LDL (Bad) cholesterol, decrease triglycerides, and lower blood sugar.

SR 9009 is also to help decrease inflammation and help with acid reflux. This is great for with frequent heart burn (like me!). 

This study shows the increases and benefits of having an increased metabolism.

It goes on to implicate SR 9009 could be good for treatment to type-2 diabetes and obesity. There are tons of possibilities with Stenabolic.

SR 9009 Side Effects

I did not experienced any side effects when doing my research. Nor have any been reported rom anyone I know or online. 

This compound does not bind to androgen receptor or affect your endocrine system in anyway. 

Therefore, no post cycle therapy is needed after discontinuing use of Stenabolic. You just need to take break for 4-8 weeks. 

Cycle Length And Research Dosage

So the sweet spot for most researchers is 20-30mg/day. Now the issue for most guys is usually the incredibly short half life for SR 9009.

Its half life is around 4 hours. That means you need to take 10 mg every 4 hours or so, 3 times a day.

I will usually set an alarm for every 4 hours. I research directly before cardio. Then research another 10 mg, four hours later and so on. 

I recommend you keep your cycles around 6-8 weeks. This is so your body's tolerance of the compound does not get too high. 

Then take off the same amount of time as the length of time you were researching the drug. 

So if you were on it for 8 weeks, then discontinue and stay off for 8 weeks as well.  

Example SR 9009 Research Cycles 

This is to show what a proper cutting and bulking cycle looks like. Of course, some of the compounds below can be modified or substituted with other compounds. 

This is just to provide you with a written out example. You can modify these research cycles to your liking. Do what works for you

Bulking Cycles

Week 1-12: MK-677 20mg/day
Weeks 1-8: Rad 140 20mg/day or LGD 4033 10 mg/day
Week 1-8: SR 9009 20 mg/day
Week 1-8: Arimacare Pro by Olympus Labs, one serving per day
Week 9-12: Nolvadex 20 mg/day and Clomid 25mg/day
Week 9-12: Super PCT by Olympus Labs, one serving per day

On these bulking cycles it important to make sure you are at a slight caloric surplus. Stenabolic will help researchers lift heavier for longer. This allows for tremendous workouts to be had in the gym.

You want to keep your lifting routine the same as you were when you were bulking. Keep lifting heavy with compound exercises and add some volume with isolation exercises. 

Eat a lot of protein and fats. Of those extra calories you add back to you diet, you want them to come in slow digesting carbs. Like brown rice, beans, quinoa, etc.

You only want to add 200-300 extra calories. This will minimize the amount of fat you put on during your bulk and allow you maximize the full fat burning effect and muscle building effects of SR 9009.  

Do not think like you can eat like shit while researching SR 9009. It will help you burn calories but if you overeat then you will still get fat.

Cutting Cycles

Week 1-8: Ostarine 20-30 mg/day
Week 1-8: SR 9009 20 mg/day
Week 1-8: Arimacare Pro by Olympus Labs, one serving per day
Week 9-12: Novladex 20 mg/day and Clomid mg/day
Week 9-12: Super PCT by Olympus Labs, one serving per day

On these cutting cycles it important to make sure you are at a caloric deficit. Add in some cardio as well. That will maximize calorie burning given that Stenabolic will allow for greater output and calories burned.  

You want to keep your lifting routine the same as you were when you were bulking. Keep lifting heavy with compound exercises and add some volume with isolation exercises. 

Eat a lot of protein and fats. Of the calories you cut from your diet, you want most of them to be carbs.

SR 9009 vs Cardarine

My experience researching SR 9009 was very similar to that of Cardarine. I noticed a big strength and cardiovascular endurance increase in gym when on both compounds.  

In terms of the main benefits, they are pretty much the same. 

I would give Cardarine the slight edge in muscular and cardiovascular endurance though. 

I can take Cardarine 30 minutes before a cardio session in the morning when I am carb depleted and still crush it. 

Stenabolic can do the same and starts working in body almost instantly but it will help get an improved cardio session. 

Stenabolic does work slightly better when cutting fat because of the increase in glucose metabolism and higher energy levels.

Both Cardarine and Stenabolic, decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol. But Stenabolic improved my lipid profile as a whole and I had the bigger drop in cholestoral with Stenabolic. 

When researching Cardarine for 8-9 weeks, my total cholesterol went from 250-215 and LDL dropped from 162 to 136.

My HDL (good cholestoral) also went down from 66 to 58. This will still well within healthy ranges but more of a drop the I would like.

Triglycerides when down from 110-100. So that was good too. 

When researching Stenabolic for 8-9 weeks, my total cholesterol went from 220-180 and LDL dropped from 140 to 105. 

HDL only went down 60 to 58. Triglycerides when from 105 to 90. 

This may be different for some other people but Stenabolic had a slight edge on more of the overall health indictors for me. 

The biggest difference is Stenabolic has no study indicating that it causes cancer like Cardarine. 

In my article on Cardarine, I talk about how that study is bullshit and you should ignore like I have done recently.

However, for those of you who are still severely worried that, Stenabolic has is a fine alternative to Cardarine. 

All it's clinical studies indicate nothing but positive effects on physical health effects on young and old people.
